CD2: Seka Rindik, Desa Gempinis, Tabanan, Bali.
Gempinis, a small village on the slopes of Mt Batukaru in Selemdeg Timor, has a club called 'Lingga Suara' which was set up to teach Rindik to the youth of the village.

CD5: Seka Gambang, Desa Celuk, Gianyar, Bali.
The Gambang may have evolved from the earliest gamelan known.The soft bamboo tones of the Gambang are quite haunting. The Gambang is a bamboo xylophone ensemble .

CD6: Seka Gender Wayang +Pupuh singing., Desa Celuk, Gianyar, Bali.
The Gender in Yayasan Suara Dana consists of 4 musicians. The scale of Gender Wayang has five pitches per octave and is Slendro. This recording has Pupuh singing telling a story from the Ramayana.

CD7: Seka Saron Luang 1, Desa Celuk, Gianyar, Bali.
This Seka Saron Luang is part of Yayasan Suara Danas program of reviving the traditional music in Bali. The scale is seven tones. Gong Saron is extremely rare.

CD9: Seka Tektekan, Desa Wani, Kerambitan , Tabanan, Bali.
Tektekan was traditionally used to chase away malevolent spirits which were responsible for bringing disaster, such as illness or drought, to a village. A very percussive gamelan.

CD10: Semara Pegulingan, Sukawati, Gianyar, Bali
The sweet melodies of the Semara Pagulingan were believed to be a musical aphrodisiac. This is one of the few new groups in Bali reviving this music which was almost lost. Led by I Komang Mustika

CD12: Seka Terompong Ujung, Desa Tenganan, Karangasem, Bali
Little is known about this Traditional Gamelan. The name itself is confusing as there is not a trompong in the group and Ujung is a water Palace in the area. This is the only time I have come across this ensemble, in Tenganan, the Bali Aga village in Karangasan, Bali.

CD13: Seka Gambang, Desa Dlod Pangkung, Gianyar, Bali
The players in this Gambang consist of the elders of the village. The youngest being 75 years old. They're music is very traditional and learn't at a young age.

CD14: Seka Gambang + Pupuh, Dlod Pangkung, Gianyar, Bali This is another recording of the elders of Dlod Pangkung playing Gambang, however, this time they were joined by a Pedanda ( Hindu High Priest ) from Sanur, I Ketut Kencana Singarsa and his group " Griya Taman Sanur' to sing Pupuh over the music as an experiment.

CD17: Seka Rindik, Celuk
I Ketut Detr, now residing in Celuk , comes from Negara in Jembrana. An accomplished Rindik player who dazzles with his relative ease of playing these difficult pieces.
The Rindik group are locals from Celuk , they were joined by Klendang, Ceng ceng, Tawa tawa and Gong Pulu to form an interesting combination.

CD18: Seka Salunding, Old recording, Yayasan Suara Dana, Celuk. The Salunding is one of the oldest ensembles in Balinese music.The music dates back to the Megapahit Kingdom some 600 years ago.
These groups are rarely seen nowadays and are used mainly for sacred ceremonies at the Temples. The Salonding has metal bars .

CD20: Seka Kecak Kolosal 5000 2006 , Tanah Lot The Kecak dance is the most dramatic of all dance in Bali.
A Story from the Hindu epic Ramayana, it tells the story of Prince Rama with the help of Sugriwa and the monkey kings, in the rescue of Princess Sita , who has been kidnapped by the evil King of Lanka, Rawana.

There are two important persons in a Peshantian group when the group sings kekawin. The first person is called Pewirama or the singer. She or he sings kekawin with appropriate rhymes, pitch, and intonation. The second person is called Peneges. He or she is the person who gives meaning or explains the sentence that pewirama sings. |
