Balinese Dance

The Importance of the children learning traditional dance is crucial to the culture and Hindu religion. Musikaal and Bali Mountain retreat now sponsor the local teacher Kadek, to give free lessons to local children who wish to learn. They often do small performances at BMR for guests and also in the village temple on Important ceremonies. |

Balinese Music Recording
|
Richard, an Australian musician/composer, moved to Bali and has been recording a library of Balinese traditional music. Travelling with his Protools/Mac mobile studio the high quality recordings are a valuable archive of music. |

Balinese Painting
|
The village children on the mountain in Bali have been given the opportunity to learn Balinese painting from a local painter Kadek who conducts free classes in Sarinbuana and Biyahan. Bali Mountain Retreat and Musikaal Studio are happy to support him and also to help him to sell his own paintings at BMR. |

Balinese Collaboration

Richard is also collaborating with Balinese musicians to compose fusion music, examples of which can be found on these fusion CDs.
The fusion Project also aims to develop an understanding of each other's music and all of its intracacies, by blending the cultural/musical conditioning each musician has from their own cultural background. |
